Throughout the year, different colours and designs of the Chinese lanterns that we offer are appropriate at different times. In 2009, both the pumpkin and Santa lanterns proved to be a real hit with the young (and young at heart), as people really got into the spirit of Halloween and Christmas, wanting to find a unique way to celebrate. As we gradually make our way through 2010, why not try decorating our white Chinese lanterns with your own pattern or design; you could even customise them as a gift for someone special, safe in the knowledge that your present will be original and special, and definitely one to remember. We had a go ourselves, and some of the weird and wonderful things we came up with were clown faces, Christmas trees (or sorts), a musical score, and ivy winding around the lantern, as though creeping up a wall. Very lovely they all were, too.
If you’re a dab hand at designing, and have had a go with your own Chinese lanterns, do send us in some photos (and make us green with envy at your artistic talent), and you may even find yourself appearing in our blog.
