For people all around the world, being able to light and celebrate with Chinese lanterns means all sorts of different things. We spoke to one of our friends, the lovely Kate, who recently graduated from university, and held a small gathering of family and friends to mark this momentous occasion. We were delighted to be able to provide her with a set of Chinese lanterns, and spoke to her afterwards about what it had meant to her to be able to release them with her loved ones around.
“It was purely magical”, she gushed. “There was a real sense of letting go of the past, that is, the last three years of my life, almost being able to watch the wonderful memories I have from that time sort of drifting into the future…and being able to look forward to finding out how they’ll shape what is yet to come in my life. At the time, even though everyone was quite raucous and ready to party, a great feeling of calm and reflection and thinking decended. Doing that all together was wonderful”.
Kate is just one example- if you have an occasion you were celebrating recently and would like to share your experience with us, please do get in touch; we always love hearing from you.
